Our department has been awarded University Recognition by the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), becoming the first department in Taiwan to receive this accreditation!

(CAS University Recognition Program Bronze Level)

Soochow University's Department of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Mathematics, thanks to its outstanding curriculum design, professional faculty, and long-term commitment to cultivating actuarial talent in the property and casualty insurance industry, has officially passed the CAS University Recognition Program and received Bronze Level accreditation.

The CAS is the world's largest international organization dedicated to actuarial education in property and casualty insurance. Its University Recognition program recognizes departments worldwide that excel in actuarial science education, demonstrating outstanding teaching quality, curriculum coverage, and industry-academia collaboration. This award signifies that our department's actuarial education has reached international standards and has been recognized by an international professional organization.

Through this accreditation, our faculty and students will be able to connect more closely with CAS's global academic network, gain access to actuarial practice information and resources, and continue to deepen our actuarial education efforts. We are committed to cultivating interdisciplinary talents with expertise in big data analysis, risk management, and actuarial science, aligning with international actuarial practices, and jointly creating a new chapter in actuarial education!
